But if you don’t pay for Facebook ads, it can be hard to make sure people see your brand on Facebook. The current Facebook algorithm, which gives more weight to posts from friends and family, makes it hard for business posts to reach a lot of people on their own. Last year, Buffer looked at 43 million Facebook posts from the top 20,000 brands and found that organic engagement on Facebook had dropped by more than 50% in 18 months. So, you have to do whatever it takes to get people to notice your brand on Facebook. One of the best ways to use Facebook is to post at the best times. There’s not much point in posting when few of your potential customers are on Facebook, because by the time they log on, your post will be old news.
How to Optimize Your Social Media Posting Schedule was the last thing we looked at. We took a quick look at when you should post on each of the top social networks to get a lot of attention. This post takes a closer look at Facebook and suggests times for brands in certain industries to post.

As with most things in life, the best time to post on Facebook is not easy to figure out. Many studies have been done on the subject, and they all come to different conclusions.
From a survey of their clients’ Facebook posts, Sprout Social was able to come to some general conclusions. All of their times were given in terms of the Central Time Zone (CST). If you use the same time zone as most of your target market, you may get similar results.
The main things that Sprout Social found were:
People are more likely to notice what you post on Facebook during the middle of the week, between mid-morning and mid-afternoon. During their morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea breaks, many people probably check their Facebook apps.
People don’t try as hard to check Facebook on the weekends or when they’re at home in the evenings. This may come as a surprise.
People use Facebook in a variety of ways.
CO-Schedule did things a little bit differently. They looked at the results of 25 studies to see if there were any patterns about the best times to post on Facebook in different fields. Some of that research is used in the section that follows. They found that different industries use Facebook in very different ways.
They did find some general conclusions, though, and many of them were the same as SproutSocial’s.
But there is one thing that stands out. People use Facebook in different ways, so the best way to find the best time for your Facebook audience is to use more precise methods.
Facebook Insights helps you find the best time to do things.
Using Facebook Insights is one way to find the best time to post on Facebook for your social audience. To get to these, you will need a Facebook page. You can get to your insights by clicking on the link at the top of your page.
You want to know when people who like you on Facebook are online. To do this, click on Posts in the menu on the left. This gives you a day-by-day and hour-by-hour breakdown of when your fans are online.
Look for spikes in the data that show when your audience is most active.
Facebook Insights also gives you information about which of your posts did the best (further down the same page as your audience data). Note the posts that get the most comments and likes. You’ll be able to see when they were posted. You could try to post at the same times more often.
best days to post for Each Sector
Several studies have broken down when people post on Fb by sector. They have found that the best times to do things depend on the type of business you run. Both CoSchedule and Sprout Social have put out reports that show how different types of businesses have different social peak times.
Most of the time, these studies do pay more attention to times of the day than to days of the week.
CoSchedule found that the best times for B2C brands to post on Facebook are between 9 and 10 am, 11 am and noon, and 4 and 5 pm. Most of the time, these times are when workers take breaks (or nearing the end of their workday).
Sprout Social found that Wednesday at 1 p.m. and Friday at 11 a.m. were the best times for business-to-consumer (B2C) companies to post on Facebook. Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m., Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., and Thursday at 5 p.m. were also busy times. Overall, companies that sell to consumers have found that people are most likely to interact with them from 10 am to 5 pm on weekdays.
best days to post on B2B Brands
According to data from CoSchedule, B2B companies were not that different from consumer companies. The best times for these businesses to post are between 3 and 4 pm or 9 am.
best days to post Brands of media
CoSchedule looked at how media brands were different from the rest of the pack. In fact, most of their most popular Facebook posts were made at 7 a.m., 11 a.m., and 6 p.m., when the news was on TV.
For media companies, Sprout Social’s data is not that different. They’ve found that Tuesday at 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 to 9 a.m. are the best times for media companies to post on Facebook. Wednesday from 8 to 9 am and 5 pm, and Thursday at 5 pm, are also good times.
best days to post for Brands in Health Care
People who like healthcare brands must get up early. CoSchedule revealed that most of their posts were read in the morning. Especially, if you post about health care between 6 and 7 am, 9 am, or 11 am and noon, you should do well.
Sprout Social also said that morning posts are best, with Wednesday 9–10 am being their best time.
best days to post on Education
Students may be known for staying up late, but it doesn’t look like they use that time to check Facebook. In fact, higher education brands seem to reach the most people before class or during breaks (according to CoSchedule). Higher education is most popular at 8 a.m., noon, and 3 p.m.
Sprout Social takes a broad view of education. They found that Wednesday at 9 am and Saturday at 5 pm are the best times to post on Fb. Engagement is most likely to happen during the week between 9 am and 3 pm (when people are at school). But Saturdays between noon and 9 pm are also a good time to fish.
In their analysis, Tech Brands CoSchedule separated software businesses. They found that the best times for these businesses to post on Facebook were at 9 a.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m.
Sprout Social found that 10 a.m. on Wednesday is the best time for tech companies. In fact, engagement should be high from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday.
Even though techies have a bad reputation, you shouldn’t post late at night or in the evening.
best days to post for Non-Profits
Sprout Social says that between 8 and 9 am on Wednesday is the best time for non-profits to interact with their donors on Facebook. In fact, people are likely to help non-profits every day between 8 am and 5 pm, which is the working week. On the other hand, they don’t see many people on the weekends or at night, so it’s probably best to avoid those times.
